The top mobile game by worldwide revenue for February 2020 was PUBG Mobile from Tencent with more than $191.6 million in user spending, which was more than five times what the title generated in February 2019. Approximately 71 percent of PUBG Mobile’s revenue was from China, followed by 7.3 percent from the United States and 4 percent from Saudi Arabia. The full ranking of the top grossing mobile games for February 2020 is above. App revenue estimates are from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform.

Honor of Kings from Tencent was the second highest earning mobile game app worldwide for February 2020 with more than $121.6 million in gross revenue. About 92.6 percent of Honor of Kings’ revenue was from China, followed by 3.7 percent from Thailand, where it’s operated by Garena and known as Garena Realm of Valor. The next top grossing games were Monster Strike from Mixi, followed by AFK Arena from Lilith Games and Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle from Bandai Namco.

February 2020 proved to be a lucrative time for many of the top 10 overall grossing mobile games. PUBG Mobile, Monster Strike, Coin Master from Moon Active, and Rise of Kingdoms from Lilith Games all had their best month ever for user spending. AFK Arena, Gardenscapes from Playrix and Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, meanwhile, had their second best months ever for revenue. Monster Strike had its best month since January 2019.

A number of factors have contributed to such a strong month for these titles. AFK Arena was released in China in January, driving a large surge in user spending. Other apps such as PUBG Mobile, Coin Master, and Gardenscapes have, for the most part, seen revenue rising on a monthly basis for a while now. Such increases in user spending is likely driven by new features, in-game events, and user acquisition spend. The coronavirus outbreak may also have had some impact, although this should become more obvious over the coming months.
